Ka tuwhera a Tangitū,ka kati a Maungaharuru
This whakatauki describes the traditional area of the Hapū which includes Maungaharuru
the mountains to the west to Tangitū the sea to the east.
The protection and restoration of the taiao that embraces and sustains the Hapū of
Maungaharuru Tangitū Trust is of paramount importance. Their unwavering focus is on the
Trust’s core purpose Kia Tipu te Mauri to guide their work into the future.
To strengthen the Taiao team they seek to fill two roles. They are the:
Kaiwhakawhanake Taiao – Taiao Manager – This role will lead, manage and promote
environment programmes that deliver on the strategy He Kainga Taurikura (a treasured
environment). This strategy supports Hapū in their understanding, connection and
involvement in the restoration of our taiao.
Kaitātari Kaupapa Here (Consents and Policy Analyst) – This varied and interesting role has
a focus on resource management policy and planning processes. It also involves assessing
external resource consent applications and providing advice to the Trust to guide the
organisation’s participation in the consents process under the Resource Management
legislation which impact the takiwā.
