Call for Nominations for Maungaharuru-Tangitū Trust 2025

TRUSTEE NOMINATIONS PROCESS

To nominate: If you wish to nominate someone to be elected as a Trustee, please click on the Nomination Form and complete. Or you can contact the tari (office) for a nomination form: phone (06) 835 3300, 0800 TANGOIO, or email communications@tangoio.maori.nz.

Nominee: A nominee must be an adult registered member of Maungaharuru-Tangitū Trust by the closing date for nominations. To register online click this link to the website https://tangoio.maori.nz/rehita/register/ or email communications@tangoio.maori.nz or visit the tari to receive a registration form.

Checklist: To be eligible to be elected a nominee must:

  1. be registered with Maungaharuru-Tangitū Trust and 18 years of age or over – Registration form
  2. satisfy the criteria specified in the clause 1 of Schedule 3of the Trust Deed
  3. fully complete a nomination form with the required attachments listed below – Nomination Form:
    1. Photocopy of your drivers licence OR a photocopy of your passport,
    2. Brief description of no longer than 500 words of skills and relevant experience to the position of Trustee (Schedule 3 clause 4.6 of the Trust Deed),
    3. An individual photograph (head and shoulders).
    4. Completed Request for Criminal Convictions History Form.
  4. be available for the online hui ā-hapū with nominees at 6 – 7pm, Wednesday, 19 November 2025.

Nomination Form: The nomination form must:

  • be signed by at least five adult registered members;
  • include the consent of the nominee;
  • be complete with all required attachments (see checklist point 3 above); and
  • be received by the Kaiwhakahaere Matua (Chief Executive Officer) by 5:00pm Friday, 12 September 2025 by post, or hand delivered to the CEO or emailed to communications@tangoio.maori.nz.

Note: Late or incomplete nominations cannot be accepted.

The current Trustees standing down (who may be nominated for re-election) are Charmaine Butler, Tania Hopmans and George Puna. A list of current Trustees is available here. At these elections there are three vacant Trustee positions.

The Trust’s Hui ā-Tau (AGM) will be at 10am Saturday 6 December 2025 (venue to be advised).
