Sadly, some of our taonga have been swept away during the floods. If you are downstream of the Marae or at Tangoio Beach, please keep an eye out for these taonga. If you find them, please let the Piki ki te Ora (kāhui tautoko) know and we’ll come get them.
Our treasured waharoa is missing. The koruru (carved face) on the top of the waharoa came from the previous whare, Punanga Te Wao – so we really hope it is found along with our other taonga.
One of our kōhatu that stood outside our waharoa is missing – the one named Whakapiritanga.
Two of our three Pouwhenua are missing.
