This year’s theme for Seaweek is “Toiora te Moana – Toiora te Tangata” “Healthy Seas, Healthy People”. There are events on nationwide – check out the Seaweek website or facebook page for details. There are lots of events happening in Hawke’s Bay, including a kōrero by traditional navigator Piripi Smith about the Pacific voyages of local waka Te Matau a Māui: 7:30pm Tuesday 1 March at National Aquarium, Marine Parade, Napier; entry is a gold coin donation to the Royal Society.
